Cocktail Wars Episode 6 Recipes: All Eight Drinks

Cocktail Wars episode 6 recipes came out of the most visual night of the season so far. Three mixologists, three challenges judged as much by eye as by palate, one elimination after the second round, and $10,000 waiting for whoever was still pouring at the end. Joey Fatone and Lance Bass host, master mixologist Melissa Brooke handles the technical scoring, and the guest judge this week was Peppermint, the singer, actress and drag queen. E! lists the episode as Drink With Your Eyes while the official recipe page files it under the theme Picture Perfect, and both titles tell you the same thing about the brief. Below is the full Cocktail Wars episode 6 recap plus all eight cocktails, each with a one-tap link that saves it straight to your Velvet Shelf account.
Every spec below is copied from the official episode 6 recipe page at cocktailwars.com, so the measurements are exactly what the mixologists poured on camera. Nothing has been rounded, converted or improved. Save any of these and the cocktail lands in your bar with cocktailwars.com credited as the source.
Who competed on Cocktail Wars episode 6?
Lisa Tummolo, Katie Auth and Nicholas Lioi competed on Cocktail Wars episode 6. Tummolo won the first challenge, won the second, and closed the night as episode winner, which is the cleanest run anyone has put together on this show so far. Auth was the one still standing at the rail for the final head to head. Lioi did not return for the third challenge, which is where this format puts its single elimination.
The official recipe page does not publish contestant bios, so the clearest read on the three of them is what they reached for. Tummolo worked brand-forward and built flavor at the edge of the glass, twice, with a preserve rim and then a maple one. Auth went botanical and spice-driven: basil, cucumber, cinnamon, cardamom, an egg white. Lioi built the biggest drinks in the room, and his punch bowl went onto the official page with no measurements attached to it at all.
Challenge 1: Monochrome Madness
The opening round asked for a cocktail built around a single color, which sounds like a garnish exercise right up until you remember that color in a glass comes from ingredients you then have to make taste good together. Tummolo took the round with a sunset orange tequila drink. Auth went green with basil-infused Gin Mare, and Lioi went pale and clear with vodka, elderflower and a cucumber spiral.
Golden Hour (Lisa Tummolo)
The round one winner and the drink that set the tone for Tummolo's night. Raspberry preserves do double duty here, sweetening the shake and gluing the salt and sugar rim to the glass, which is why the color reads as one continuous gradient from rim to base. The official page gives no measures for the pomegranate liqueur, the preserves or the rim.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Flecha Azul Tequila Blanco
- 1 oz Cranberry Juice
- 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
- 1/4 oz Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz Monin Agave Nectar
- As needed PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
- As needed Raspberry Preserves
- As needed Salt and sugar rim
Method
Rim glass with preserves and sugar/salt mix. Shake tequila, juices, liqueur, and preserves with ice; strain over fresh ice.

Green Goddess (Katie Auth)
Auth's monochrome answer arrives green from three directions at once: basil infused into the Gin Mare, cucumber muddled in the tin, fresh basil on top. The celery bitters and that pinch of smoked salt are the only things keeping it from tasting like a salad, and they do the job.
Garnish: Basil
Ingredients
- 2 oz Basil-infused Gin Mare
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 3 to 4 slices Muddled Cucumber
- 1 dash Fee Brothers Celery Bitters
- .75 oz Simple Syrup
- Pinch Smoked Salt
Method
Combine ingredients in shaker; shake and strain. Garnish with basil.

The Insider (Nicholas Lioi)
The only drink of the night with a glass named on the official recipe page, and the lightest thing anyone poured. Elderflower syrup and club soda put it closer to a cooler than a cocktail, and the cucumber spiral running the length of the Collins is the entire visual argument.
Glass: Collins glass
Garnish: Lime, cucumber spiral and fresh mint
Ingredients
- 2 oz Deep Eddy Original Vodka
- 1 oz Belvoir Farm Elderflower Syrup
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- .5 oz Simple Syrup
- To top Q Mixer Club Soda
- As needed Mint
- As needed Cucumber
Method
Muddle cucumber and mint; add remaining ingredients except soda; shake; pour into Collins glass; top with soda; garnish with lime, cucumber spiral, mint.

Challenge 2: Vita Coco Punchbowl
The punch bowl round scaled everything up, with coconut water required in all three builds. Punch is a different discipline from a single serve: you are balancing liters at once, the ice is one large block instead of cubes, and dilution happens slowly across a whole party rather than over fifteen seconds in a tin. Tummolo took this round too.
Throwback (Lisa Tummolo)
The round two winner, and the method matters more than the list. Everything else goes in first, then the blue curaçao arrives last so the color blooms through the bowl instead of muddying into the juice. Count the ounces and you are past a gallon of liquid before the ice block goes in.
Garnish: Lemon Peel, Apple, Kiwis, Peach
Ingredients
- 24 oz Tito's Vodka
- 8 oz Bols Blue Curaçao
- 8 oz Monin Agave Nectar
- 8 oz Monin Dragon Fruit Syrup
- 4 oz Kiwi Purée Syrup
- 24 oz Orange Juice
- 24 oz Grapefruit Juice
- To taste Lime Juice
- 48 oz Lemon-Lime Soda
- 24 oz Vita Coco Coconut Water
- As needed Blackberries
- As needed Blueberries
Method
Place giant ice cube in bowl; add all ingredients except curaçao and soda; combine; add curaçao for glowing effect; stir; garnish.

Sin Piña (Katie Auth)
The name translates as without pineapple, which is a fair description of a tropical drink that skips the obvious juice and lets cinnamon syrup and coconut water carry the sweetness instead. Pineapple turns up in the garnish anyway. Prosecco over a blanco tequila base keeps it light enough to drink in quantity.
Garnish: Lime and pineapple
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Tequila Herradura Blanco
- 1 oz Cala Bennati Prosecco
- .75 oz Cinnamon Syrup
- .5 oz Lime Juice
- 1.5 oz Vita Coco Coconut Water
Method
Combine in shaker; garnish with lime and pineapple.

The Hulk (Nicholas Lioi)
The maximalist entry of the season: two Diplomático rums, two Bols curaçaos, hibiscus and yuzu syrups, coconut cream and coconut water, under a garnish plate of seven things. The official recipe page publishes no measurements for this one, so the ingredients appear below in the order given and the proportions are left to the bowl and your taste, exactly as the show's own method line instructs.
Garnish: Orange, Pineapple, Blueberries, Blackberries, Hibiscus Flowers, Dehydrated Limes, Coconut Flakes
Ingredients
- Diplomático Planas Rum
- Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva Rum
- Bols Orange Curaçao
- Bols Blue Curaçao
- Pineapple Juice
- Orange Juice
- Monin Hibiscus Syrup
- Monin Yuzu & Pineapple Syrup
- Fever Tree Grenadine
- Coconut Cream
- Vita Coco Coconut Water
Method
Combine ingredients to taste; garnish with fruit, flowers, coconut flakes.

Challenge 3: Where's My Glass?
The final put the last two in front of the judges without a fixed vessel, so whatever presentation the drink was going to have had to come out of the drink itself. Auth answered with foam and a dry dusting. Tummolo answered with heat and smoke, and took the episode.
Woody Be Good (Lisa Tummolo)
The episode winner. A jalapeño and agave muddle under Woodford Reserve, ginger liqueur for a warm middle, a maple rim instead of a sugar one, and oak smoke over the top. That is how you give a drink presence in a round that has taken your glassware choice away from you.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey
- .5 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
- 1/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/4 oz Monin Agave Nectar
- 2 to 3 Jalapeño Slices
- As needed Maple syrup, for the rim
- As needed Oak chips, for smoking
Method
Muddle jalapeño with agave and lemon; rim glass with maple syrup; shake bourbon, liqueur, mixture with ice; strain over fresh ice; smoke with oak chips.

The Giddy Up Special (Katie Auth)
Auth's finale and the runner-up drink: Herradura Reposado and Hypnotiq under a house-made mango, cardamom and vanilla cordial, with an egg white whipped up to hold a dry finish of sugar, orange zest, cardamom and vanilla bean. The foam is the plate the presentation sits on.
Garnish: Lemon peel
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Tequila Herradura Reposado
- 1 oz Hypnotiq
- .75 oz Mango Cardamom Vanilla Cordial
- .75 oz Lemon Juice
- 1 Egg White
Method
Shake ingredients; top with sugar, orange zest, cardamom, vanilla bean; garnish with lemon peel.

How the episode played out
Tummolo led from the first pour. Monochrome Madness went to Golden Hour, a tequila sour in sunset orange with cranberry and grapefruit underneath and a raspberry preserve rim holding the salt and sugar in place. Auth's Green Goddess and Lioi's The Insider were both clean drinks, but the round rewarded color that came out of the build rather than off the garnish tray.
The punch bowl round was the swing. Scaling a cocktail to a bowl punishes anyone who has only ever balanced a single serve, and Throwback is a properly engineered large format drink: citrus and coconut water for length, agave, dragon fruit and kiwi for sweetness and color, and blue curaçao held back to the end so it blooms rather than blends. The Hulk went the other way, piling in two rums, two curaçaos, hibiscus, yuzu, grenadine, coconut cream and coconut water, and it is the one recipe on the official page with no measurements attached. Lioi did not return for the third challenge.
That left Tummolo and Auth for Where's My Glass?, a challenge that strips out the vessel and asks what the liquid can do on its own. Auth built texture, shaking an egg white into a Herradura Reposado and Hypnotiq base and finishing with a dry dusting of sugar, orange zest, cardamom and vanilla bean. Tummolo built heat and smoke instead: jalapeño muddled into agave and lemon, a maple rim, oak chips smoked over the finished drink. Woody Be Good took the night.
Three techniques worth stealing from episode 6
Use jam as rim glue. Golden Hour rims with raspberry preserves and then presses the glass into a salt and sugar mix. Preserves hold a heavier rim than citrus juice does, they carry color into the first sip, and whatever is left in the spoon goes into the shaker so that the rim and the drink taste like the same idea rather than two different ones.
Hold your color modifier until the end. Throwback combines everything else first, then adds blue curaçao over a single large ice block. Added late and barely stirred, a colored liqueur sits in bands and glows against the fruit. Stirred in early, the same pour turns a whole bowl a flat gray-green and you cannot take it back.
Smoke the drink, not the glass. Woody Be Good is built, strained over fresh ice and then smoked with oak chips, so the aroma sits on the surface where your nose meets it. Smoking an empty glass first is the more common bar move, and most of that aroma has left by the time the drink is poured and the first sip arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who won Cocktail Wars episode 6?
Lisa Tummolo won Cocktail Wars episode 6 with Woody Be Good, a smoked Woodford Reserve drink built on a jalapeño and agave muddle with Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and a maple rim. She also took both earlier challenges. Katie Auth was runner-up, and Nicholas Lioi did not compete in the final round.
Who was the guest judge on Cocktail Wars episode 6?
Peppermint, the singer, actress and drag queen, was the guest judge on Cocktail Wars episode 6, which E! lists under the title Drink With Your Eyes. She joined hosts Joey Fatone and Lance Bass and resident mixology expert Melissa Brooke for an episode built around how a cocktail looks.
What was the punch bowl challenge on Cocktail Wars episode 6?
The second challenge asked each mixologist to build a Vita Coco punch bowl: a large format cocktail served from a bowl over one large ice block, with coconut water required in the build. Lisa Tummolo won it with Throwback, a vodka punch that runs past a gallon of liquid before ice.
How do you smoke a cocktail with oak chips at home?
Set a small handful of oak chips smoldering in a smoking gun, or under a cloche with a torch, then trap the smoke over the finished drink for roughly thirty seconds before serving. Smoke the built cocktail rather than the empty glass, so the aroma is still sitting on the surface at the first sip.
